Click on picture to view the exhibition. | Annabel Menheneott - 1-31 August 2021 Annabel’s talent and interest in paintings may have been inherited from her maternal great grandfather, Rowland Hill, a Royal Academician and founder member of the Staithes Group of Artists. The daughter of a Royal Marine, her fathers’ work enabled the family to travel widely and often live by the sea - an obvious influence of her work. rnHer works are in private collections internationally and following a successful exhibition in Monaco; the prestigious Monaco Yacht Club has purchased two of her paintings where they now hang in their permanent collection. rnMost of her works are abstract in nature, many of them contain sufficient hints of realism leaving the admirer the chance to delve deeper into each scene, filling in the blanks with their own favourite spots by the sea or perhaps conjuring up their own imagined hideaway. rnAnnabel’s paintings communicate an atmosphere; some convey a feeling of emptiness and vastness whilst others suggest a feeling of calm.

Click on picture to view the exhibition. | Kate Richardson - 1-30 June 2021 Kate, originally from Guildford, came to Cornwall 15 years ago and quickly fell in love with it. The county has a long history of art and the abundance of galleries in the area sparked a dormant creative desire, so she embarked on building a body of work in her own unique style.Working with oil and mixed media, Kate’s abstract collection is a unique expression of freedom bound by minimal use of colour, yet boundless in its imagination. Each original piece is uncompromised and unlimited. Complex, textured shades support geometry without borders. Shapes and colours emerge and fade with gentle subtlety, inspired by the infinite sub-conscious mind and providing compelling drama. Her work carries a strong emotional element and she describes painting as simultaneously cathartic, meditative, explorative and exhilarating.

Click on picture to view the exhibition. | John Brenton - 1st to 15th December 2018 Remarkably this will be the eighteenth successive year that we have hosted a solo exhibition with John. During that time he has established himself as a leading contemporary land and seascape artist and has exhibited at both the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and with the Royal Society of British Artists. Painting en plein air, John can often be found battling the elements on a Cornish cliff top or dodging the incoming tide as he works to capture a scene. Predominantly working in oils, he employs a technique that uses both palette knife and brush. This gives his work a richly textured, vibrant style, so full of energy that it transports you to these evocative locations.
